Ancient ladies would beautify themselves with the use of Belladonna to enlarge the pupils of the eyes. On a darker note, poisonous plants such as Belladonna could become a woman’s weapon of choice if her husband or lover stepped too far out of line.

A witch sets her amber eyes over her crystal ball on Samhain night, her raven hair entwined with psychoactive belladonna and fly agaric mushrooms, as the light of traditional Jack-o’-lanterns, original carved from roots such as turnips in old Europe, cast their otherworldly light about the room.
